Last Man Standing

Welcome to our 15th Annual Last Man Standing competition!  Last year was probably the wildest competition we’ve had to date.

ATTENTION:  RULE CHANGE FOR THIS YEAR…
Each person may now enter up to TWO (2) entries if they choose to do so.  Entry fees remain the same ($40 each.)

As usual, half of this year’s proceeds will go towards the foundation’s mission of assisting families with the funeral expenses of a child.  Our foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and your donations are tax deductible.  The remaining 50% of the proceeds will be split among our Last Man Standing winners.  Assuming we get 200 entries this year, we will pay out the Top Five as follows…
LMS Champion – 60%
2nd Place – 15%
3rd Place – 12%
4th Place – 8%
5th Place – 5%
We’re looking forward to another fun, exciting, aggravating and stressful football season!  Our official rules are posted at the bottom of the page.  Once you’ve paid for your entry, you’ll be given all of the pool login information (same site info as previous years.)  Please contact us with any questions at info@charlieandemma.org
For those who are new (or those who need a reminder) here is the pool info…

***** LAST MAN STANDING OFFICIAL RULES *****
*** Entry Fee is $40.00 per entry. (Due before Week Two early games kick off.)
*** Up to two (2) entries per contestant.
*** $40 entry fee is waived with four (4) new referrals. (a new referral is someone who has never participated in our Last Man Standing pool before).
***  Each contestant attempts to pick the winner of one NFL game each week.
*** The deadline for contestants to make their weekly pick is five minutes prior to the first Sunday game of the week. You may select a Thursday game. Your pick for that game simply needs to be submitted prior to that game beginning. If no selection has been made by the deadline, the player is eliminated and not allowed to use their mulligan.
***  No point spreads are involved. The goal is to simply pick the winner of the game.
***  Ties count as a LOSS.
***  Once the contestant has picked a team to win, they may not pick that team again for the remainder of the season.
***  Each contestant receives a one-time “mulligan” if they pick incorrectly at any point during the first five weeks of the competition.
***  This one-time mulligan option is only available during Weeks 1-5.
***  The pool ends when there is only one contestant remaining.
*** If multiple contestants lose in a week that results in there having zero contestants remaining, all remaining contestants will still advance to the next week. (If four people are left in Week 15 and they all lose, all four of them will advance to Week 16 and go again.)
***  If, after Week 17, there are multiple participants remaining, the contest continues on into the playoffs.
***  Playoff rules are as follows…Each contestant will pick each of the four Wild Card games. Previous picks throughout the regular season are irrelevant at this point. All remaining contestants will pick all four Wild Card games. Whoever picks the most correct of the four Wild Card games is our Last Man Standing champion. (Example: Player A, B and C are still alive going into the Wild Card round. All three make their picks. If Player A gets all four correct and Players B and C get three correct, the contest is over and Player A is our winner. However, if Players A and C both get three games correct and Player B gets two correct, Player B finishes 3rd while Players A and C move on to the Divisional Playoff round.)
***  If multiple contestants are still remaining after the Divisional round, this same format will continue on to the Championship Games and through the Super Bowl. If there are multiple contestants remaining heading into the Super Bowl, each contestant will pick a winner for the Super Bowl, as well as the total number of points they think will be scored during the game. The total points scored by both teams will be used as a tiebreaker if the remaining contestants choose the same team to win the Super Bowl.
***  In case of a tie, the contestant that gets closest to the total number of points scored during the Super Bowl will be crowned our Last Man Standing champion. It does not matter if the number is over or under the actual amount of points scored. It is simply closest to.
***  If the total points tiebreaker is implemented and the remaining contestants are equally apart from the actual number of points scored in the Super Bowl, the prize will be split equally and we will have Co-Last Man Standing Champions.
***  WARNING: All contestants must make a pick before the deadline each week in order to remain in the competition. If a contestant has not made a selection by the Sunday deadline, they will be eliminated from the competition. This rule applies even if the contestant is eligible for a mulligan. Not selecting any team for a week is actually an unfair advantage. Therefore, the contestant will be eliminated whether or not they have a mulligan at their disposal.
