• The Charlie and Emma Foundation is a Kansas nonprofit corporation.
• The Charlie and Emma Foundation was granted tax-exempt status by the IRS under Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3).
• The effective date of exemption for The Charlie and Emma Foundation is January 5, 2017.
• Our mission is to assist grieving families who are in need of financial assistance to cover the costs of their child’s funeral.
• Beginning in 2018, families may apply for assistance.
• The Foundation defines a “child” as anyone age 14 or younger.
• Applications for assistance submitted for children over the age of 14 will require special approval by our Board of Directors.
• The Foundation will deal directly with the families and funeral service providers.
• The Foundation is run by a Board of Directors that consists of nine members.
